Everyone loves holiday; that’s for sure, and with the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s Eve, you certainly have lots of exciting things to come. Imagine how great it is to gather around with other family members that you don’t get to see on daily basis or to enjoy the laid back and relaxed holiday atmosphere. However, among the many excitements around the holiday, most people are baffled or clueless about making attractive holiday card sayings for their colleagues, friends, or relatives.

Holiday card sayings are basically something harmless, but they you can give you a bad headache. When you send cards to people you know, you can’t come with something usual or ordinary. Sure some people prefer the safe way by simply writing ‘Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!’ but that’s simply boring and it DOES get old pretty fast. Not to mention that if you are going to impress your clients or business colleagues, those kinds of saying won’t get you nowhere. You don’t have to be the master of writing and communication by creating poetic or overly beautiful saying. As long as you understand the target receivers and you can create sincere words from the heart, it is possible that your card will stand out among the others and leave impressive mark.

The Importance of Holiday Saying

You may think that such holiday saying isn’t important but it actually is for some people. You see, for modern people, such holiday saying isn’t just words; it is also a symbol of care, gratitude, and best wishes that are represented through word expressions. Sure, you can always go with the simple and ordinary ones, but what’s so special about it? Not only the ordinary and regular saying is boring and unattractive, it feels somewhat empty and lack of personal touch. So, if you want to make something special and unforgettable, there are some serious considerations that you need to make.

Holiday saying in cards is mostly important for business. Whether you are sending cards for your clients or partners, keep in mind that the right saying can make your cards stand out; thus, leading to them knowing you better – and they will certainly remember you. And in business, you want to be remembered – in a good sense, of course – so knowing how to come up with the right saying is crucial.

The first thing you need to remember is to make sure that the saying is personal and different for every receiver. Naturally, you can always include the common saying, but don’t forget to entail the details – make sure to adjust it to the condition of the receiver. By doing so, they know that you have written the saying special only for them, and they will appreciate your efforts. The saying doesn’t have to be extra long – after all, spending the whole page for the saying is ridiculous, anyway – but make sure that they score a bull’s eye.

The second thing that you need to address is the condition of the receiver and tweaks the saying with the appropriate words. Even the simplest ‘Merry Christmas!’ can be special when you add the name and other extra wishes: good luck for the upcoming up interview, save trip for the upcoming trip to the Bahamas, or best wishes for speedy recovery. Besides the regular wishes, you can also express gratitude, remembering old times, or wishing for the future. With gratitude words, you don’t always have to say thank you. You can say ‘How lucky to have you as my friend’ or ‘I am blessed to have you as a sister’ will be the best alternative to say. Reflecting the past like ‘Hope you have nice holiday, like the one we had this summer’ will remind them of the good times in the past. Wishing for the future like ‘Have a great New Year and we’ll see you soon in January’ or ‘Happy holiday and hope your new job will be exciting for you’ will give them sense of personality and intimacy that they won’t find from other cards and senders.

There are so many wishes that you can write for your personal or professional choices. Write funny and happy saying is also possible – who says you have to be serious all the time? Don’t forget to include other family members like your kids – let them scribble the cards, have cute drawings, or sign the cards – so yours will look different from the others.
